In the past couple of days there has been a whirl wind of controversy surrounding one of the major domain registrars. While Go-Daddy is receiving intense lash-back from its pro-SOPA stance, a couple of their main competitors are clamoring to take advantage of the negative press, conjuring up promotions such as ?SOPAsucks? in an effort to get customers to transfer their domains and hosting from GoDaddy to their own company. There are even web-sites devoted to nothing but slamming GoDaddy for their recently retracted position on the SOPA and PIPA, ?GoDaddyBoycott.org?.
According to several reports, GoDaddy has retracted their stance on these bills in the past few days due to thousands of domains being transferred to other registrars. As one Techcrunch.com article suggests, there are plenty of other companies still listed on the SOPA Supporter list, and GoDaddy is no longer there.
Amongst all this negativity during the holiday season, one web-hosting and domain registrar company is determined to do nothing but continue to offer their industry leading transfer prices of $ 7.49. ?AIT has been offering domain registration and web hosting for longer than GoDaddy and our open source community ties have kept us friendly to many internet owners and internet businesses.? states Chief Operating Officer Michael Roberts. ?I think how the internet community handles issues like this, is one main reason that AIT has been around so long. Members of the internet business community resist the change that can kill free markets, put their business in jeopardy, and ultimately shut them down for no reason. Because it?s so closely tied to everything we do in business today, the internet has a voice. Obviously, GoDaddy has heard how loud that voice can be.?
AIT recently lowered their transfer prices to $ 7.49 a couple of months ago, ?in order to better accommodate domain owners in search of registrars they can trust.? The goal of helping domain owners still holds true with the company during this holiday season. AIT has no plans on changing their transfer prices in the foreseeable future.
?In the business world, especially the tech industry, there are only a certain number of things that you can control. One of the things that we can control here is our domain transfer prices, $ 7.49, and the services that we offer those customers.? says Chief Marketing Officer Richard Kirby.
