Atlanta-based Healthcare Consulting Firm Launched Firm to Provide Healthcare Providers and Healthcare Organizations with Practice Management & Marketing Expertise

(PRWEB) January 20, 2002

Atlanta, GA (January 18, 2002)? Gregg, Tummala & Associates, LLC (GTA) today announced the launch of it?s consulting firm, designed to provide healthcare providers and healthcare organizations with practice management and marketing expertise. The strategic and operational planning and development services are designed to provide healthcare organizations with sustainable business models and tools to help their bottom lines, while allowing providers to focus on care.

Unlike traditional firms, GTA is focused on serving those organizations with 15 or fewer providers, an underserved market where 2/3 of all providers practice. These practices typically rely on the expertise of an office manager or a staff member that may be unable to handle the complex needs of today?s provider practice. GTA provides these practices with expertise in the areas of marketing, healthcare Web sites, practice management analysis, healthcare information systems, supply-chain management, regulatory compliance, M&A and strategic partnerships, ancillary healthcare services and placement services.

GTA boasts an experienced staff of almost twenty healthcare professionals including several physicians and the firm?s co-founders Charles H. Gregg and Vijay R. Tummala. Charles H. Gregg most recently served as the founder and chief executive officer of LabTest Express, an Internet-based consumer discount laboratory testing service. Prior to LabTest Express, Mr. Gregg served in a variety of healthcare roles with Integrated Regional Laboratory, Saint Joseph?s Hospital (Tampa Florida), Doctor?s Walk-in Clinics (Tampa, Florida) and the United States Air Force. Mr. Gregg?s formal education includes a pre-med education from Saint Leo College in Saint Leo, Florida.

Vijay R. Tummala has served in a variety of healthcare executive roles including director, business alliance program, Healthcare.com (now Quovadx), vice president, marketing, LabTest Express, director of marketing, MedSpecialists (now cMore Medical) and as sr. vice president, corporate marketing and Internet strategy, GlobeRx.com. Tummala has also been responsible for marketing McKesson?s physician information technology product area ($ 120 million/year area), and holds a B.S. from Penn State University and an M.B.A from Georgia State University.

?GTA offers a truly premier team to an underserved market allowing providers and healthcare organizations to focus on care and allow GTA to provide high-value management and marketing expertise,? said Charles H. Gregg, managing partner, GTA. ?This allows healthcare providers to access experienced professionals without the cost of hiring a full-time staff member,? added Vijay R. Tummala, managing partner, GTA.

The firm has formed several strategic alliances in order to provide World-class expertise in areas such as healthcare information systems research and regulatory compliance. GTA currently serves a variety of organizations including LaVista Pediatrics, the Georgia Chiropractic Association, the Georgia Biomedical Instrument Society, and Chiropractic Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation Center.
